Coco & Eve Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque
So this blog is about the Coco and Eve Coconut&Fig hair mask. To be honest, I’m not a fan of coconut products in general. I think western countries tend to like coconut because it’s exotic to them? (I mean it only grows in tropical climate). However as I live in Thailand, there’s plenty of coconuts, and plenty of coconut beauty products around. So coconut is not an ingredient that attracts my attention.
However, as I got to attend Sephora Thailand Spring19 Press Event, I was introduced to Coco&Eve.
First of all, I was really drawn to the pink and teal themed display. I like how it looks playful and cute and chic at the same time. The packaging of the mask made my hand reach for them to test out.
Second, I really like the smell. This isn’t pure coconut smell, but has Fig added to it and that’s why I really like this when normally I’m not a fan of coconut.
The set comes with a huge tub of the hair mask, along with a tangle tamer. I really like that they include the “comb” in the set, because whenever I try to use hair masks (or even hair conditioner) my hair is always tangly (cause I shampoo aggressively) and I end up pulling our chunks of my own hair. With this comb, it really helped with the de-tangling and I save my precious chunks of hair.
Now here’s the official description:
A treatment masque will transform your hair to smooth, shiny and healthy hair after just a single wash.
5 in 1 treatment
Restores dry damaged hair
Improves hair texture and shine
Hydrates and deeply conditions
Treats split ends and tames frizz
Transform your hair in only 10 minutes
Here’s to you use it (according to the people at Coco&Eve):
1. Shampoo your hair as normal, ideally using a sulfate-free shampoo.
2. Evenly distribute a generous amount of product to your towel dried hair and brush through with the tangle tamer.
3. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse with warm water.
4. For dry hair, use 2-3 times a week, for normal hair, 1-2 times a week and for oily hair just once a week and focus the product towards the ends of the hair and avoid the scalp!
Now here’s how I use it: I know they tell you to use it on towel dried hair, I use it like a conditioner because getting out of the shower and getting back in to rinse it off is a tedious job for me. I just wanna do it all in one go. So I leave it on like a hair conditioner and I wash up and scrub my body and apply body conditioner and that’s prolly about 5-10 minutes as suggested. Then I rinse out and dry my hair normally.
The texture of the mask, to me, is like a hair conditioner, but in a tub instead of a bottle. It’s creamy and smells great. I really love the feeling when I applied it on.
As for the results? I love it! First, the scent stuck on for like a day or two, and I can’t stop smelling my own hair! I know I look crazy but I constantly pick up strands of my hair and sniff on them at work lol. Second, I noticed that my hair was “fluffier”. It’s more flowy and feels lighter. I mean, this is a good thig for me. Since my hair is really oily, it’s super flat and heavy on the second day, but using this I feel like it doesn’t weigh down as fast. So that’s a good thing. Third, my hair is shiny and it really does tame fizz.
As for other claims, I can’t really comment on that because my hair is not that damaged to begin with. But overall, I really love this mask! I will continue to use it once a week in place of my hair conditioner. If you are looking for a hair treatment and you love coconut, then give this a try :)
There are also mini versions at the Press Event, but I’m not sure if they are for sale. But if they are, I think these would be perfect for travel!
