Stila Lingerie Soufflé Skin Perfecting Color and Perfecting Primers + Little White Lies Heavenly Highlighting Palette
Hey guys some of you might already see these new Stila items instore, and might be wondering how do these work? Well here’s my review on them.
First of all, I do not own any of these items. They belong to a friend of mine who received some PR items and that’s why they are not full to the brim. All opinions are my own.
Let me start with these gorgeous and dangerously heavy pots. There are 3 formulas, the “foundation”, “primer”, and “bronzer” as I’d like to call them. The packaging is super luxe. It’s a glass jar with a metallic lid. These are also uncomfortable heavy, so it’s nice on your vanity but they are to remain there.
First up is the Stila Lingerie Soufflé Skin Perfecting Color. This is described as a color corrector that has 70% of the ingredients as water.
Here’s the official description:
Slip into something more comfortable with this opulently-whipped, yet refreshingly lightweight, delicately tinted skin perfector.

I have to say I have never seen any brand come out with this formula before (maybe there is but I’ve never tried any). It feels like a mousse and feels very watery once blended. It’s really refreshing for sure. This is great for humid places, when you want something refreshing and light on your face.
To me, I prefer to use my fingers to blend, because I don’t really like me brushes to get “wet”. Not sure if it’s really wet but I can feel the water when I blend with my fingers, so just in case.
This mousse has a tint, but it’s quite sheer so picking the right shade isn’t that important. I think one shade can work for many skintones because it will disappear into your skin once blended. This one is the second to lightest shade.
Once blended, it feels like a tinted primer rather than a normal cc cream. I believe it has silicones, and so it feels like you have a watery primer on your face.
Word of caution. Do not try to put anything cream texture over this, or it will flake. I tried this over the other two primers, and it flakes as well. So yea, you can only use this with powder over it, not creams - which makes it a bit unpractical because what if you want to put on concealer over this? Well my conclusion is I believe people who use this don’t need to use anything else anyways because it’s for those who want minimal coverage and have good skin to begin with.
Next are the two officially names “primers”. They are in the same heavy and luxurious container, but with a rose gold lid rather than gold. There are two shades. Sheer Illumination and Sunkissed. I will start with Sheet Illumination.
First, let’s see the brand’s description:
Experience a rush of freshness with Stila’s most luxurious multi-function primer. The opulently-whipped gel formula primes skin with the added benefit of two finishes - illuminating or bronzing.
New generation light-refracting pearls add a natural-looking glow with a blurring, skin perfecting effect. Innovative gellifying ingredients and emulsifiers allow for a smooth application, without the usual associated tackiness. Skin-loving formula with natural botanicals and over 70% water for a refreshing feel, all day. Apply under foundation to prime, or over foundation to refresh your complexion.

Before makeup application, apply a pea size amount to skin with fingers or your favorite application tool.
This, to me is like Benefit Porefessional but with a watery feel. It definitely has silicones, and it smooths my skin really really well. However, it has the same problem as the color corrector. This flakes when I put something cream texture over it. It doesn’t even work with the color corrector. I can only put foundation powder over it for it not to flake. Which is kind of pointless, because if I want to use this primer in the first place, it means I’m looking for something refreshing and not heavy for the day. I’m really not sure how to use it under foundation and not make it flake.
However, the brand does suggest that this can be used to touchup during the day. Now this actually works for touchups. It’s quite similar to YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector, but lighter and more watery. So this will work as a perfector.
One problem. The jar is huge and terrible for carrying around. So again, what’s the point of touch ups when I won’t carry it around anyways?
Below are swatches.
When blended.
Next is the shade Sunkissed. This has the same description as Sheer Illumination, but I feel like they are slightly different.
Sunkissed has shimmers in it, and feels more like a liquid highlighter/base than a primer.
Here’s are closeups. You can actually see the shimmers.
This shade also has the souffle feel, but it feels less watery and less silicone-y. It’s quite shimmery, but its perfect for that tanned look for the summer. I think it would be great as a base and some minimal makeup on top.
Once blended its not that obvious, which is good.
But if you look closely, you can see the shimmers.
So that is it for the Souffles. Overall, I like Sunkissed the most. The other two don’t really work for me. But because I rarely go for that tanned look, Sunkissed isn’t really for me either. But if you want to pick on, I’d go with Sunkissed.
Lastly, I also included the Little White Lies Heavenly Highlighting Palette in this post as well.
Brand’s description:
This divine highlighting palette with a twinkling trio of seemingly similar shades holds a secret. When applied, each shade magically transforms from white to varying pastel-bright…what a delight!
Like Stila's award-winning Heaven’s Hue Highlighter, the bouncy-to-the-touch hybrid cream/powder texture melts into skin for a lightweight, ethereal glow. But truth be told, the seemingly white base is actually translucent and each barely tinted pearl particle contains a colored luminescent core. When blended on skin, the pearl flips to its shimmering underlying color. The effect is three different multi-dimensional shades that glisten, gleam, sparkle and twinkle on skin as it catches the light...and that's no lie!
Color transforming formula adds movement and multi-dimensional sparkle to skin as it catches the light.
Apply with fingers, a sponge or synthetic brush and blend into cheeks, eyes, lips and body. Can be worn on bare skin, over foundation or Heaven’s Hue Highlighter.
I had to tilt the palette a little bit so you can see the shifty twinkles. These are the same formula as the Heavenly Highlighters, but these are more luminescent.
And here are swatches!
Another photo.
And here are closeups of each shade. You can see the shift here.
