Swatches of all my Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks

I gotta say Charlotte Tilbury makeup was one of the first luxury brands I ventured into. Back when I was still in Uni and didn’t have much money this brand was so much coveted. It was like an out-of-reach luxury item I that I can only window shop. Finally when I started to work and started earning money, the brand became more affordable. And my collection grew. Not just the lipsticks, her other products are also amazing but in this post I will only write about the lipsticks.

Charlotte Tilbury started as a makeup artist and turned into a brand creator.

This is part of her story:

As a determined young makeup artist, I was persistent. I was constantly building my network of professional peers including photographers, models and stylists – many of whom I still work with today. The 1990s – the era of supermodels who epitomised glamorous beauty and really embraced hair and makeup artistry – were inspiring and formative for me. I mean will you just look at those brand new Tilbury lipsticks! I just can’t resist the feel of new lipstick bullets! GAH

OK let’s start from the matte formula first. At first she came out with the Matte Revolution formula, and later on added the Hot Lips line (lipsticks inspired by celebrities Charlotte has worked with).

p.s. I have no idea what the “Lipstick Tree extract” is.

I think this formula is one of the best matte lipsticks on the market. OK I may have some other brands that I love as well, but Tilbury is definitely on top of my list. It glides on smoothly, giving a “a soft, buildable cashmere finish”. That part really is true. It’s matte, but very comfortable on the lips. I’d say it’s a soft matte finish. These also last pretty long too.

These are in a lovely cream formula. I mean I have many cream lipsticks, but these are also on top of my list. There are many shades of m=nude and MLBB shades, so you’re certain to find one that fits. I love using these shades when I’m doing a smokey eye.

Penelope Pink- Nude lipstick with pink undertones
Hepburn Honey - Moisturising light peach lipstick. This is a really leans brown, and kinda made me look old, so I didn’t use it much. I bet it’s great for mature women though.
Bitch Perfect - Nude lipstick with pink undertones. The name does sound a bit controversial right? But the shade really is awesome. I wear it really often.
American Sweetheart - this was a limited edition and so I couldn’t find the shade description. But it is a great MLBB shade.
