Glow Recipe part2: Pineapple & Avocado
So continuing from Part 1 (link below), this blog is on the next two ingredients, Pineapple and Avocado. I actually bought the Bluberry cleanser as well but somehow lost it (my bad)
First up is Pineapple. This was a new addition to my Glow Recipe collection, the Pineapple-C Bright Serum.
Here’s the brand’s description: Glowing, glass skin starts with a bright, smooth, and translucent complexion so reflective, skin appears like glass. This bouncy, lightweight serum will do just that with three potent forms of antioxidant-rich vitamin C including 22% Pineapple Juice (one of the most powerful forms of natural vitamin C), pure Ascorbic acid, and stable 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic acid to combat acne scars, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation leaving skin glossy and even. The natural AHAs and Bromelain Enzymes from pineapple gently exfoliate while the built-in skin soothers (chamomile and aloe) ensure that skin stays happy and refreshed.
Key Ingredients
Pineapple - A potent source of natural vitamin C, natural AHA, and bromelain enzymes for bright, smooth, and hydrated skin. It visibly fades dark spots, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation for smoother, clearer skin.
Ascorbic Acid - One of the most potent forms of vitamin C, ascorbic acid helps to brighten your complexion and even out your skin tone while helping to visibly reduce signs of premature aging like fine lines and wrinkles.
3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid - A powerful yet stable vitamin C derivative made up of 75% Ascorbic Acid and 25% Ethyl Group. The Ethyl Group is a small carbon unit that stabilizes the ascorbic acid while keeping it as pure as possible. It further helps to brighten and even skin tone while acting as a powerful antioxidant giving you your glowiest skin ever.
Hyaluronic Acid - Hydrates and plumps skin by attracting water to maintain long-lasting hydration. Your one-way ticket to dewy, refreshed skin that looks smoother and rejuvenated.
Vitamin E - An antioxidant-rich powerhouse that helps to deeply hydrate and visibly protect skin, making this serum powerful and super nourishing.
Free Of: Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Phthalates, Alcohol, Synthetic Dyes. Vegan. Cruelty-free.
Now I’m gonna tell you a funny story about my experience with this serum. First of you just read above that this serum contains vitamin C (duh obviously), 22% Pineapple Juice, and other acids. Now when I first bought this serum I stored it a cool dry place, normal. I tried it for a bit and it was fine, it had a fruity smell (close to pineapple but not 100%), and I liked it. Now I took it out to take photos in the sun for about 30 mins and didn’t notice anything. Last night when I used it again, OMG it smelled like fish sauce! Like literally it smelled so bad, I had to wash it off and the smell still lingers. I don’t know if it’s the Pineapple Juice going bad when I put it in the sun, or it’s the VitC, or the acids. I’m not an expert on this so I don’t know for sure. Does anyone know? Pls enlighten me pls.
But what I know for sure is it is going into the trash cause I can’t stand putting fish sauce on my face.
Lastly, the Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask.
First let’s look at the brand’s description: “The retinol of your dreams is here to make all your radiant and plump skin dreams come true. The Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask is a creamy, nourishing mask formulated with antioxidant-rich avocado, exfoliating PHA, and the most gentle form of retinol, encapsulated retinol. This super gentle, yet effective mask works to improve skin’s elasticity and reveal smoother, hydrated skin with each use. Use as a wash-off flash facial or overnight mask for deep recovery.
Ingredients:
Avocado- A nutrient-dense fruit rich in antioxidants such as Vitamin E & Vitamin C, which are known to fight wrinkles and environmental aggressors. Contains both avocado oil and avocado extract for the ultimate soothing and nourishing experience.
Encapsulated Retinol - Helps firm skin and address the damage caused by daily exposure to pollutants and other free radicals. Encapsulation allows the retinol to sink deeper into the skin and release smaller amounts at a time, making it more gentle than traditional retinol treatments.
PHA - Provides a gentle exfoliation while you sleep for softer, smoother skin.
Matcha - Matcha contains the antioxidants polyphenols that help protect skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors. It contains EGCG, a very active polyphenol which has therapeutic effects on skin. Protects from free radicals and helps complexion overall.
Free Of: Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones, Phthalates, Alcohol, Synthetic Dyes, Synthetic Fragrance. Cruelty-free.
This is my latest addition to my collection. I have to say this is my favourite item out of everything I own from Glow Recipe. I don’t like eating avocado, but a mask? Shut up and take my money.
The formula is more dense than normal face creams, you have to scoop it out of the pot using a spatula, but it spreads very easily and dries down in a while. It does leave a bit of a sticky residue (unlike the watermelon mask that dries down completely), but it doesn’t bother me much. It has a soft scent (which I’m not sure if its really how avocados smell) but apparently it is 74% pure avocado (fruit, extract, oil, and butter). I’m liking it so far, got nothing bad to say about it at all.
And that’s the end of my Glow Recipe review, Hope this helps yall.
