Chantecaille Philanthropy Cheek Shades Review & Swatches
Guess what just arrived, the Chantecaille Philanthropy cheek shades! These are dedicated to different species that are facing risk of being endangered needs immediate protection. A part of your purchase will be donated to help those causes. (5% of net proceeds). To be honest, 5% is just a teeny tiny bit from their profits but I respect the fact that they're trying to raise awareness through these cheek shades. I think most poeple don't know the danger these animals are facing.
Here's Chantecaille's dedication from their website:
"Due to a deep concern for our endangered environment and the many animals at risk, Chantecaille has always reached out to its customers through its products and coverage in the press on these universally relevant issues. A key impetus for creating the company was a strong desire to establish a platform with the power to draw attention to important issues of global sustainability, and to fund a foundation that could support related initiatives."
These are existing shades but packaged in a special pebble compact and also have a special overspray that’s just too pretty to use! There are 6 shades in total, but I picked up 5.
The shades include:
Turtle (grace), a deep Apricot
Elephant (smitten), a soft peach
Butterfly (bliss), light with soft rosy undertones
Bee (Emotion), A golden Coral
Horse (joy), a playful pink
Coral (Laughter), a warm peachy pink. (I don’t own this)
Chantecaille has always been a huige supporter of environmental issues and animals awareness. I have bought their Save the Lions palette and the Save the Gorillas palette.
Philanthropy Cheek Color: Butterfly
This is originally called Bliss, a light blush with soft rosy undertones
"Every year the autumn sky is ablaze with orange as millions of Monarch butterflies make the 3,400 mile “miracle migration.” These butterflies are now on the endangered species list due to global warming, logging, deforestation and lack of food along their migration paths. You can help Monarch butterflies survive by supporting the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, which Chantecaille is proud to support. 5 percent of the net proceeds of all Cheek Shade sales will benefit the 6 charities included in the collection."
Philanthropy Cheek Color: Elephant
Elephant is originally Smitten, a soft peach.
Here's the reason the company thinks Elephants need protection:
"We can't live in a world without elephants. Today up to 38,000 elephants are killed annually for their tusks, as ivory is seen as a symbol of wealth, power and status. Help save them by fostering orphaned baby elephants with the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an organization Chantecaille is proud to support. "
Philanthropy Cheek Color: Turtle
This is originally called Grace, a deep apricot.
"Seaturtles define all that is ancient and magical about our blue planet. These wondrous creatures are endangered and struggling for survival. Chantecaille is proud to support WIDECAST and their focus on saving endangered sea turtles in more than 33 Latin American and Caribbean countries. "
Philanthropy Cheek Color: Bee
Bee was originally Emotion, A golden Coral.
For those of you who may not be aware of this, bees are currently endangered due to their loss of habitats. Bees pollinate on plants to reproduce, and with the plants gone. Pesticides used in plants also effects their pollination. The number of bees is dwindling.
Here's the reason the Chantecaille thinks Bees need protection:
"Bees pollinate the flowers and trees which feed us. They are in danger of extinction due to the overuse of chemical pesticides and monoculture planting practices, which have eliminated wild- flowers and plants they rely on to survive. Chantecaille is proud to help honey bees survive by supporting The Xerces Society and their efforts to protect the bees and their habitats. "
Philanthropy Cheek Color: Horse
Horse is originally Joy, a playful pink
"Wild horses need land to roam free—by conserving park land for wild horses, we not only help save the herds, we also ensure that the land remains preserved for future human generations, as it was originally intended. You can help by supporting the American Wild Horse Campaign, which Chantecaille is proud to support."
Overall, a great purchase for a great cause. Although these cheek shades are small and are quite expensive for the amount I got, I don't feel bad about buying these at all. The quality is simply amazing. These colors are perfect for everyday. and are super office friendly. The animals patterns are just an overspray so the shades aren't really shimmery.
Who doesn't love Chantecaille?
