Smashbox Cover Shot Eyeshadow Palette Swatches PArt 2: Petal Metal, Minimalist, Ablaze
And here’s part 2 of my massive swatch saga which includes all the Smashbox Covershot eyeshadow palettes. There will be 3 palettes in this post, the Petal Metal, Minimalist, and Ablaze.
Before we go on, here’s part 1 which consists of Major Metal, Bold Glitter, and Prism.
And a special post for the L.A Covershot palette.
OK continuing with part 2, first up is Petal Metal.
Petal Metal (petal-soft rose-gold shades): This wearable rainbow of petal-soft rose gold glides on in one swipe. Each shade beautifully blooms to create effortless matte day looks and sultry metallic evening looks!
Yes yes this palette is all about the rose gold vibes.
I think its a good palette to have if you love rose gold, but I think us makeup addicts probably have these shades already somewhere in our collection. It’s not the most unique palette, but lovely nonetheless.
And swatches! Rosegold vibes right there.

Another angle.
Next, the Minimalist Covershot palette.
Now this palette is really ‘minimalist’ just like the name suggests. Toe me, this is a really boring palette. But if you like monotone lids on a daily basis, this might be for you.
And the swatches.
And lastly for this post, Ablaze.
Ablaze (hot, desert-inspired shades): With shades in rich red clay and hot terra cotta, this palette captures the warmth of the desert in a range of sun-drenched shades—these dimensional pigments are perfect for adding depth and contouring.
Now this is something more fun, and its for those who like really warm shades. I personally don’t do too well with warm shades, but I have to admit that this is a nice palette. The mattes are really buttery.
And swatches! I think this palette swatches much better than they look in the pan.
