Mac Nicopanda Collection review
They’re here! The MAC Nicopanda collab. And what’s more exciting? We got it before other countries! It’s so weird that we got these faster than other places, this never happens! We always had to wait months, before we get anything. Can’t believe we got something fast for a change. OK enough of my rant, let’s get on with the review.
I was able to test these at the counter, and also bought a couple, so I can also review on the weartime. This collection included 3 Full Face kits, a blush, 5 lipsticks, 4 lipglasses, a cushion compact, an eyelash set, body stickers, and 1 brush kit.
First, the Full Face Kits. I picked up the one called Primapanda, which looked most suitable for day to day wear. Ok this might be stupid, but I need to complain about how the shades are kinda hard to wear on an office day. I love the packaging and all, but I prolyl won’t reach for these that often. But that’s not the point of this collection is it? It’s supposed to be fun and experimental! It’s definitely achieved that goal.
Below are the swatches.
Preppy Panda – The pale pink blush is nice, but the matte shadows failed to show up.
PrimaPanda – I think the blush is quite unique. The shadows you can find elsewhere.
Stay Cute – Blush is nice but you can find that elsewhere too. Shadows as well.
I think the shadow combinations are quite weird. They don’t seem to go together at all. You will prolyl need to alternate these with other palette. On the quality, I don’t think these are the best. I have tried much better shadows from MAC, let alone from other brands. I was pretty disappointed with the shadows to be honest.
The blushes are OK. Cute and fun colors! But I’d rather just buy the blush without the shadows.
Next, the Gleamer Face Powder. Now this one is worth getting. It’s like a brightening powder/blush similar to the MAC beauty powder. OK the price is much higher than your typical Beauty powder, but I think the packaging saves everything lol.
Next, the Lipsticks. Such fun shades! The matte formula is good. I picked up Pink-Off, which seems most wearable for me. Wish I can rock that Mint lipstick though!
Swatches: Galactic Mint, Kawaii Party, Pink Off, Pop Babe, Tough N Chic
I’m missing Nico Kiss, which is a matte black.
Another highlight of the collection in my opinion, the Panda lipglass! I picked up Glitter Parade, which caught my eye right away when I saw promo photos. It’s essentially a normal Mac Lipglass in cute packaging. Not a revolutionary formula, but the packaging kills!
Swatches: Sugar Coat, Glitter Parade, Panda Kiss. I’m missing Dreamz, which is a dark blue. It didn’t look nice at all though.
Next, I picked up the Nicopanda Brush bag which includes 3 brushes: 461 SES for highlighting, 536SES Large Rounded Eyeshadow brush, and 531SES Wide Smudging Brush. These are the same quality as Mac’s other limited edition brushes. Nothing Wowing, but again, this is such a collector’s item! The whole panda theme is just super cute. Also the pouch is so cool and chic! Out of the whole collection, I think this one is best hahaha, just because I think the other products’ qualities just aren’t so good.
Lastly is the cushion compact.
Overall, this is a collector’s collection. Those of us who are makeup junkies and also for MAC fans out there. For normal users, this collection is a pass. Not easy to use everyday, and quite pricey.
Did anyone pick these up? Thoughts?
