Nars Highlighting Powder (reformulated)
These new Nars Highlighting Powders are now available in Thailand, and I didn’t hesitate to pick them up! I chose Capri and Ford de France. These new highlighters are named “Highlighting Powders” which implies that they are powders and not highlighters. I think Nars is quite right to call them “powders”, since they are quite sheer and have no shimmer/sparkles at all. They are more sheer but buildable, does not give a blinding shine, but gives a subtle glow.
Here’s the description from the official website:
“No glitter. Just glow. Highlighting hits a new high with NARS’ new Highlighting Powder. This uncompromising innovation delivers next-level luminosity with Seamless Glow Technology—a blend of sheer powders and pearls to create second-skin luster that blends effortlessly. Its satin-soft, micro-spherical powder layers evenly and weightlessly, fusing onto all skin tones. Ultra-refined and soft-to-the-touch, new Highlighting Powder accentuates skin with buildable radiance and a seductive, dewy finish. Features go from delicately lit to strobed in the speed of light.”
SECOND-SKIN HIGHLIGHT
Seamless Glow Technology combines refined translucent powders and pearls to create second-skin highlight.
Micro-spherical powders meld seamlessly into skin and reflect light to enhance skin’s natural glow.
BLENDS EFFORTLESSLY
Silky, lightweight feel provides easy blending and no harsh lines of demarcation.
I agree with everything in the official description. For those of you who like very subtle, barely there shine, these are for you. I actually think these are the sheerest highlighters in my collection.
Capri is the perfect highlighting shade, it brightens up my face and the powders are pretty subtle.
Ford de France leans warmer and I’m planning to use it on my tanned days. I haven’t tried the old formula, but I think the new one is really nice.
Below are the swatches in the shade, and in semi sunlight. I think you can tell from the photos that these aren’t shimmery, and are quite sheer. This was with finger swipes. Using a brush would give a much sheerer shine.
