Wayne Goss High Shine gloss Review and Swatches
So finally Wayne Goss came out with makeup! After years of using his brushes, he launches lip products and of course I had to buy them! He came out with lipsticks, lip liners, and glosses. I bought 4 glosses and 4 lipsticks which I will review in 2 blogs.
This blog will be about the glosses first. You can find the review of the lipsticks in the link below:
Brand’s description: The iconic ‘90s lip gloss, reimagined with a hydrating formula and super-shiny finish.
A modern take on the iconic ‘90s lip gloss.
Lip gloss is back and better than ever. The High Shine Gloss envelops lips in a smooth, brilliant shine that lasts all day and never gets sticky. Cold-pressed botanical extracts and conditioning emollients nourish lips while adding a lacquer-like finish. Wear it alone or as a topper over your lip color for a sleek, super-shiny look.
“These lip glosses feel amazing on the lips and add that touch of polish that instantly completes a look.” — Wayne Goss
Long-lasting, super-shiny finish.
Smooth the fine-tipped applicator over lips to saturate them in glassy, three-dimensional luster. The formula retains its mirror-like shine and cushiony texture for hours.
Hydrates and nourishes.
Cold-pressed pomegranate and conditioning emollients boost the skin’s moisture barrier for all-day hydration. Peppermint oil gently plumps with a refreshing, cooling sensation.
Plays well with others.
Wayne formulated this gloss to be worn by itself or layered over lipstick or pencil to add shiny depth and dimension.
KEY INGREDIENTS
Pomegranate: Cold-pressed and fractionated, the sterols are used in this gloss helps increase barrier protection on the skin while providing additional shine. This super ingredient helps with even pigment application for one-swipe application.
Peppermint Oil: Natural oil provides a refreshing feel for lips while it's gentle cooling sensation keeps lips plump and hydrated.
Conditioning Emollient: Wax-free hydrator to add shine, longevity and moisture barrier protection
There are 8 shades in total ( I own 4 that are in bold).
Antique Rose: Nude rose with gold and silver shimmer
Cherry Blossom: Medium neutral pink
Chrysanthemum: Golden bronze with gold shimmer
Hibiscus: Cool rose gold with shimmer
Hyacinth: Soft pink peach
Petunia: Deep nude mauve
Tulip: Nude beige with shimmer
At first when I looked at the online promo photos and swatches, I thought that these were on the sheer side and maybe a little watery. No idea what gave me that idea but I was so wrong. These are very rich and creamy. When applied on my lips, they feel very lush and rich. I think the word “lush” and “classic”" best describes this gloss. I fell like royalty while wearing this (OK may be I’m exaggerating a bit lol). They have a slight minty scent and a bit of a cooling sensation which I love!
Some shades have shimmers and some don’t. I like both formulas.
I spilled Petunia and I thought I’d make use of it as a closeup photo :P
And the swatches! The colours may seem a bit light, but they are actually very creamy. But don’t expect pigmentation like liquefied lipsticks though.
As you can see from the swatches, I guess I shouldn’t have bought both Cherry Blossom and Hyacinth because they are too similar. The only difference is that Cherry Blossom is very fine pearls that you can barely see, whereas Hyacinth doesn’t have any shimmers.
