First up on this blog is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ seaglass shimmer body gel

Dispense a small amount into the palm of your hand & work into skin, focusing on the center of your legs, shoulders & collarbones.

Now this is described as a gel, and not an oil. However I feel like it is alsy quite sticky and oily so I will group it with my body oils. It is not technically a gel (I would imagine a gel to completely dry down and to feel refreshed).

It feels like a hybrid gel/oil annd once applied my skin feels moisturized. It has a bit of an oily residue, which would be perfect in dry weather, but in humid weather where I live it turns out to be very tacky and annoyingly greasy. It also gets worse when I sweat.

So here’s my suggestion: only buy it if you live in dry/cold climate.

Here’s how it looks with one pump. The gold is just so pretty.

Here’s how it looks blended. The gold is not that prominent now, but it still shows up. I mostly get a glowy feel from the gel rather than the shimmery feel from the glitters.

Next is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Shimmer Body Oil.

How to use:

Shake well prior to use. Mist oil onto application area and allow to dry on its own or blend into skin until desired level of intensity is achieved.
Safe for use on the body. Avoid use around the face and eye area.

I love how this oil comes with a spray head because that makes it so much easier to control how much oil I want to use. I can also spray it to specific spots and not have it dripping all over the place.

The shimmer flecks are quite prominent in this one. Even after the oil dries, the shimmer can be seen very clearly. If you are looking for a shimmery oil then this one is for you.

The oil feels like a dry oil, and it dries down and doesn’t feel greasy on my skin afterwards. It has a sweet scent, like vanilla, which doesn’t bother me.

Lastly is Nuxe Shimmering dry oil Huile Prodigieuse® or

Use Huile Prodigieuse® OR all year round, winter or summer, on your face, body and hair.

Apply Shimmering Dry Oil to your face and body to nourish and soften skin and add a satin finish.

For your face, mix a few drops of Huile Prodigieuse® OR with your NUXE cream.

Massage Huile Prodigieuse® OR over your legs from the bottom to the top to capture the light and create a satiny glow.

As summer draws nearer, mix a few drops of dry oil with your moisturizing body lotion in the palm of your hand for amazing legs.

This is specifically described as a dry oil which can be used for both body and face. However, I have only tried using it on my body because I don’t want something so oily and glittery on my face.

The oil dries down quite well on humid climate. It did not leave a greasy feel on my skin. It has quite a unique scent though, I can’t quite describe it. It’s sweet, but also a little heavy as well. For those sensitive to scent, I suggest you smell it before buying.

There are some golden shimmers in the oil, but you can only see them from the bottle.

Lastly is Nuxe Shimmering dry oil Huile Prodigieuse® or Swatches

After spreading it on my skin, I can barely see the shimmers. It’s like the shimmers don’t exist at all actually. So if you are looking for a subtle body shimmer oil, then this one is for you!
