Hello peeps! Selena Gomex released a new beauty brand Rare Beauty and I finally got my hands on them.

First up is the Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer.

How to: Apply 1-2 pumps to clean, moisturized skin, blending in with fingers. Then, follow with foundation and/or concealer.

TIP: Feel like skipping makeup? Try this primer on its own! It's made with ultra-fine pearls that bounce light to create the look of a more even skin tone.

Rare Beauty Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer Swatches

I am in love with this primer. I usually don’t use primers (I’m just too lazy), but there was one primer I have always loved which is Dior Glow Maximizer but it has been discontinued. I have never found something to replace it, but I think this Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer is very close to.

This primer is very glowy, my hand was literally glowing after I spread the primer on it. But after blending, the shininess isn’t that obvious and it gave my skin such a healthy glow (photo below). Once I put foundation on afterwards, the shine isn’t that obvious. There’s no need to worry about looking like a crystal ball.

The cooling sensation is also a plus!

OK next is the highlight, the liquid highlighters!

Apply 1-2 dots directly over any areas you want to add a touch of glow—high points of cheeks, brow bone, the bridge of your nose. Blend with fingertips, brush, or our Liquid Touch Multi-tasking Sponge.

TIP: For a soft, all-over glow, mix into your foundation or concealer.

These are amazing! Formula wise, it’s all I could ask for in a liquid highlighter. Shimmery, glowy without any chunks of glitter.

I usually mix my liquid highlighters with my foundation to give it more glow. However, it comes with a doe foot applicator, so it was kind of difficult to mix with foundation. I ended up having to dab these on my skin and then put foundation on top of them before I blend them on my skin.

I guess these are intended to be used on points of my face. If you love using liquid highlighters, I really recommend them! (but maybe wait for a sale).
