Marc Jacobs eye-conicmulti-finish eyeshadow palette - Steel(etto) & the velvet primerepic lash primer
So Marc Jacob came out with a new set of colours for his Style Eye Con palette, Steel(etto). I really like the tone of this palette which leans smokey and sophiscated. And it was used on Lady Gaga at the Oscars too! I loved her look.
Let’s start with the description of the Style Eye Con palettes:
A plush eyeshadow palette in a reflective chrome compact, featuring seven shades in four fashion finishes-velvet, satin, silk, and lamé-to layer and dress your eyes.
Empower your inner eye makeup stylist with this ultra-luxe eyeshadow palette, featuring four fashion finishes: buttery matte velvet, shimmering satin, sparkling silk, and metallic lamé. This limited-edition palette in a reflective chrome case features the same super-plush shadow formulation as the original Eye-conic, covering lids in lasting, velvety-rich pigment. Make the ultimate impression in a covetable mix of unexpected neutrals and smoky shimmers.
Layer the lamé shades on top of the other textures for a scintillating metallic finish. Or, apply the pop shades as a base to add vibrancy to neutrals, or layer over top for a burst of color.
As you can see from the swatches, most of the shades are matte. And to be honest, I wasn’t really that impressed with them. I feel like the first 3 shades are quite patchy. But I have to say that I did not try this on my lids, so I don’t know if they perform better on lids than on my arm.
I think the highlight of the palette is that second to last shimmer shade. It’s really multi-dimensional. I think this is the only shade I like out of the whole palette. I’ll wait for him to release it as a single eyeshadow haha.
So that’s it for the palette. What do you guys think? Is it purchase-worthy?
Another new item launching is the Marc Jacobs Velvet Primer - epic lash primer:
An ultra-plush lash primer with a conditioning base that maximizes the benefits of your favorite mascara for lashes that look longer, fuller and more dramatic.
Take your mascara to the next level with Velvet Primer. The creamy, conditioning formula coats your lashes to maximize the benefits of your favorite mascara. Lashes look longer, fuller and more dramatic. The soft-beige color helps you cover every lash, making it easy to apply evenly from root-to tip. Unlike a traditional white-colored lash primer, the unique shade helps intensify your mascara and won’t gray it out. This ultra-plush primer gives you the full treatment for lashes that feel luxuriously soft and healthy, not brittle or dry. It also helps prevent your mascara from flaking. For the most irresistible, over-the-top, false-lash look, this is your go-to step before mascara.
I think this is really nice. What makes this different from other lash primers is that it can be used at night as a lash treatment!
