Expressing my love for Cream Eyeshadows: Tom FOrd, Charlotte Tilbury, Suqqu
Well I guess I’ve been expressive on instagram about how much i love cream eyeshadows. When I’m in a hurry I can always just swipe and go, and they’ll last all day! Some times I use them as a base and layer glitter on them.
But did you know that before this I was afraid of everything that are creams. Cream blushes, for example, because I have oily skin and they will all melt away throughout the day.
But somehow it was different for cream eyeshadows (well for some brands of course). I find them to be even more long lasting than powder eyeshadows (without eye primer). And later on my collection just grew.
After some experimenting, I have now in mind 3 favourite brands. I initially had more but they dried out and these are the survivors! My fave are definitely Tom Ford, Suqqu, and Charlotte Tilbury. I have also tried Bobbi Brown, Chanel, MAC, Kiko, and many others but right now the above 3 brands are my favourites.
So let’s begin with my favourite brand, Tom Ford obviously! I have Siren Blue, Burnished Copper, Spice, Platinum, and Sphinx. I also got two cream shades from the Cream & Powder Eye Color in shades Emerald Isles and Pink Haze. These are such staples in my collection. Just swipe and I’m ready to go. No smudges and they last all day! Anyone hesitating because of the price, I think these are pretty affordable (compared to Tomford’s other products) and they last a LONG time without drying up.
From the website, THE LUXURIOUS, CREAM EYE SHADOW ILLUMINATES EYES IN THE LUSTROUS GLOW OF EIGHT, ULTRA-PIGMENTED METALLIC SHADES. THE VERSATILE, COOL AND CREAMY FORMULA SEAMLESSLY GLIDES ONTO THE LID TO BRIGHTEN EYES WITHOUT CREASE OR SMUDGE.
Below are closeups of the shades that I own.
Below is my favourite shade, Platinum, I always reach for Platinum on my office days. Or on days I dont know what to choose. It really does go well with anything.
Burnished Copper, another favourite (pictured below). My skintone goes super well with green, and this shade leans green, without being too bold. I also wear this to the office.
And the most important part, the swatches!

Here are the cream part from the Cream & Powder Eye Color in shades Emerald Isles and Pink Haze. These come in a cream/powder duo in shades that go together. The green shade is from the Emerald Isles duo and Pink Haze is from the Golden Peach duo.

Annnnnnd roundup swatches.
Next up are Charlotte Tilbury! It started with Norma Jean (champagne) then Mona Lisa (bronze), and my favourite, Verushka (brown/green shift). The formula stays all day, and the shades are super classic. Will recommend anyone to try these!
According to the website,

• Revolutionary water-infused formula has a cooling effect on hard-working eyes
• Easy glide-on formula won’t drag on your delicate eye area

• Soft-focus illuminating pigments smooth over lines & imperfections for a visibly more youthful finish
• Fill 7ml
Norma Jean was the first shade ever to catch my eye. I was studying in the UK at the time and saw some ad or something with Charlotte using this shade. I was immediately drawn to it and decided to purchase it online. The shade is more like a base on my skin color, but stunning nonetheless. I loved the formula so much that I decided to get more shades.
Next was Veruschka, which was described as a golden gray. However, I feel like it has green and brown mixed into it as well. Bottom line is, it’s a stunning shade.
Lastly is Mona Lisa. This was an everyday - you can do nothing wrong shade. Just look at the swatches below for yourself.
My two Suqqu Deep Nuance Eyes cream eyeshadows in shades 103 and EX03. These feel like cream to powder and are super buttery. I love the very fine shimmers in the shades. The shades are also very classic.
And the swatches. You can see the glitter here.
