Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder & Veil Retouching Fluid review

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder

Finally got a chance to try the new Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder.

Here’s my opinion: it’s a great powder! Finely milled, and sets my makeup perfectly, absorbed oil pretty well. I really love how the surface of the container is curved, so the powder stays put in the middle and doesn’t spill out  (which always happens for other brands). Seriously, thumbs up for the curved container.

My only criticism with it is the price. This tub contains 10g of powder and costs like $55 where I live, whereas I can find other powders that cost 1/3 for a similar result. I think it’s a great powder but maybe save it for a special occasion, as its too expensive to use everyday.

Next, my thoughts on the Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid.

To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be used as a concealer, but I think it’s a bit too light  to cover my pimples. Definitely not thick enough to cover any imperfections.

It’s good for touchups during the day though, you know fill in where your makeup has faded or on spots you wanna coverup. I'd say this is equivalent to YSL Touche Eclat.
