Budget Beauty Part 1: Primark Makeup
So I visited Primark on my last London visit, and I went berserk. OK. Understandably, because everything there is so epic cheap and there are so many cute things there to grab without having to worry about the price. You’re guaranteed to get such a low price you’re wondering why they can be sold for so cheap.
Ok on to the point. I picked up some of their makeup after hearing that the quality isn’t that bad. Also, I have a habit of experimenting with makeup, so I always buy stuff whenever I go somewhere new. Primark is no exception.
Ok I picked up a matte/gloss set, 3 setting powders, and a contour/blend brush. In case you haven’t noticed, they seemed to have borrowed quite a lot from Kim Kardashian.
OK first up, the Matte&Gloss collection. This included 2 glosses and 2 matte lips and retails 10 pounds. It comes down to just 2.5 per item, such a bargain!
From trying them, The mattes aren’t super matte like some other brands. The glosses are just normal glosses. I don’t notice any shade names.
The two mattes are both nudes, one leans beige and one leans coral. I think they are nice for the price, but mind you I have tried much better liquid lipsticks. But I’m saying that for those on a budget, this is a good value.
Below are the two matte shades.
For the glosses, one is a brownish nude, and one is pure glitter. The nude washes me out completely, and so I’ll have to use it on top of some other lipstick. The glitter one . . is just a pinkish gold glitter mess that also has to be worn over another lipstick as well. I like the glosses a bit less than the matte lips, but they are still OK for the price.
I’d like to take a moment here to salute on the packaging. As you know, I am a sucker for cute packaging, and so it explains why I grabbed this set haha.
Below are the swatches: Nude gloss, two mattes, and glitter gloss.
OK next, the PS Insta Girl setting powders. I have seen setting powders with similar packaging before from many different brands. I suspect that they are manufactured at the same place, and slapped on different labels. 4 pounds each is the lowest price I have seen for this powder (Makeup Revolution sells them at 5 pounds), and so this is such a great bargain.
I picked up 3 shades, Rice, Rose, and Banana. Rice is a plain beige powder. It doesn’t show any color once applied, and it smells like baby powder which I used when I was a kid. I think it’s quite nice. The powder is finely milled and sets my makeup nicely.
Rose powder has the same texture, but has a slight pink tint. It’s good for those days when my shin is shallow, the pink brightens up my skin nicely.
Lastly, the banana powder, well I guess you already know is for baking.
Overall, very nice and affordable! Totally recommend.
Lastly, the Kim Kardashian knockoff. To me, this is the exact same one that Kim sells for 18 USD. I bought this one for 3 pounds . Ok maybe they are not 100% exact, but they're so similar.
Nothing else to say, just grab it lol
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this Primark makeup collection. Super cheap yet looks uncheap. Primark also has tons of makeup to choose, but I didn’t have time to try everything. Maybe on my next London trip. Has anyone tried makeup from Primark?
