Natasha Denona Holiday 2018: Safari Palette, Gold palette, Mini Star Palette, Chroma Crystal Top Coats.
I couldn’t be more excited when these arrived! I’ve always been a huge fan of Natasha Denona palettes, and her hew additions looks amazing. In this post I have the Gold palette, Safari palette, Mini star palette, and the two Duo Chroma top coats.
OK first up are the palettes! Starting with my favourite of this launch, the Gold palette.
According to the brand, “the Gold Eyeshadow Palette features 15 brand new shades, with the classic, signature ND formulas including: mattes, metallics, sparkling & duo chrome and Natasha’s new innovative formula eye shadows textures, which are complimented with browns & greens, so one can create a broad selection of looks, varying from a natural gold to a dramatic glam eye look.”
I do agree that the browns compliment the palette well, but i see more blues then greens. If you like greens, I suggest the Green-Brown palette more.
Out of all the new releases, I wanted this the most! The shades are just right up my sleeve. The gold and bronzes shades are just stunning, and I love those two teal shades as well. If you like neutral palettes, I think this is a must!
Here’s one particular shifty teal shade which really stood out for me.
And of course, the gold.
Here are the swatches. As you can see, the shimmer shades perform wonderfully, on par with her other large palettes. The shades lean neutral, making it very easy to wear.
OK more closeups. See the sparkles?
And the mattes are of course great. I usually love more shimmers then mattes, so this palette is just perfect for me.
See? I see 2 blues and not greens lol.
OK next is the Mini Star palette. I originally have the Full sized one, so I can compare the size. By value, the full size one is a better deal, but if you’re on a budget, this mini version is a great way to have a taste of the full palette. I especially love the duo chrome shades.
That left shade is just beyond gorgeous. I love shifting shadows.
And . . . the swatches.
It’s quite small, i have to admit. And I have small hands to begin with. I think this is PERFECT for travelling, since its so purse-friendly. Also the shades can give you multiple looks.
Here’s a comparison with the full sized one. As you can see, there’s a huge difference. But at $25 I think it’s a great buy if you don’t already have the full sized Star palette.
And last of the palettes, the Safari palette.
This is an all-matte palette with obviously “safari shades”
According to the brand, “Natasha Denona designed the perfect matte palette with 15 brand new shades in her signature matte formula; wearable warms, cool muted tones, and unique medium to dark shades to complement your current collection. Any three shades in a row can be used to create an entire look. The top row features cool muted and gray tones, the middle row is warmer tones and the bottom row has highly requested rich reddish tones.”
I did not notice this at all, before I did the research to be honest. Now I do see that the first row is cool grays, second row warm, and bottom row reddish. Which makes this quite an interesting palette. You pretty much get everything - but only mattes.
Personally I prefer shimmers, so honestly I wouldn’t reach for this palette that often. It’s also not office friendly in terms of shades. However, I think this is one of the most visually stunning palettes I have ever come across. And matte lovers would love this.
Here is Safari joining the rest of my palette gang.
And to show hoe beautiful each shade is, here are closeups of the pans. These are too pretty to use seriously. I did not want to smear the smooth canvas!
Just another photo . . cause it’s just so pretty.
And here’s a roundup photo of my Natasha Denona palettes!
Also just released are two new Chroma Crystal Top Coats in Metal Bronze and Metal Black. I think these are her best Top Coats yet. They are both very pigmented and sparkle like crazy! I now have 6 of her to coats, and I’m loving these the most.
Annnnnd the swatches! These are super pigmented!
Finally, another family photo. I just love this collection to death.
