Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palettes: Diffused Edit, Dim Edit, Ethereal Edit, Luminous Edit
Hello peeps, I recently got my hands on these Hourglass Ambient Edit palettes. There are 4 of them in total, Diffused Edit, Dim Edit, Ethereal Edit, Luminous Edit. Each has a finishing powder, a blush, and a highlighter. I absolutely love all the palettes. They are super versatile and are perfect for travelling. I have always been a huge fan of Hourglass powders, and I actually collect all of them. I especially love these 3 panned ones because I feel like the 5 pan ones are too small and I use them up way too quickly.
Here are the properties of Hourglass Powders:
• Powders mimic six universally flattering light sources, from morning light to candlelight, allowing clients to build a wardrobe of options—not unlike having a personal lighting technician at your disposal.
• By manipulating and filtering out harsh light, powders conceal skin imperfections, pores and wrinkles.
• State-of-the-art formula delivers a multi-dimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer, younger and perfectly lit.
• Universal powders make them suitable for every skin tone, while each can be worn day and night.
• The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography.
I wanted to show you the official description of these palettes, but I can’t seem to find them on the official Hourglass website. Seems like these palettes are available in Asia and Europe only. I will instead show the official description of each powder, and my swatches.
The first palette is Diffused Edit. It contains Diffused Light Finishing powder, Euphoric Fusion blush, and Luminous Bronze Light bronzer/highlighter.
DIFFUSED LIGHT: A soft, warm, pale yellow powder that conceals redness and gives skin clarity—like a soft ray of morning light.
EUPHORIC FUSION - a soft lilac blush blended with Euphoric Strobe Light for a resplendent glow.
LUMINOUS BRONZE LIGHT - a medium tan shade fused with Luminous Light, a champagne pearl powder, for a softer, candlelit warmth. Ideal for fair/light complexions.
It’s a really lovely combination because here you also get a bronzer (for pale gals).
Below are the swatches, The first photo is in normal lighting, and the second photo is in sunlight.
Next is my absolute favourite palette, Dim Edit. The Dim Light powder has been my finishing powder holy grail for years, and now that it’s in a palette I have been taking it with me EVERYWHERE! I brought this palette to the Maldives with me and I basically used just this palette in all my photos. Cannot express how much I love it.
This palette contains Dim Light powder, Incandescent Electra blush, and Euphoric Strobe Light.
DIM LIGHT: A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones.
INCANDESCENT ELECTRA - a cool peach blush blended with Incandescent Strobe Light for a celestial glow.
EUPHORIC STROBE LIGHT: A pearlescent beige powder imparting a neutral highlight.
I use the Dim Light powder to set the frame of my face, and use the Strobe light on my cheekbones, nose, forehead, and chin. Then finish with the blush.
Next is Ethereal Edit. It contains Ethereal Light, Diffused Heat blush (one of my favourite blushes from Hourglass), and Incandescent Strobe Light. In my opinion, this palette is more for the lighter tones skinned girls.
ETHEREAL LIGHT: An opalescent sheer, cool white powder that mimics a moonlit glow—even in broad daylight.
DIFFUSED HEAT: A vibrant poppy blush combined with Diffused Light for a subtle halo effect.
IRIDESCENT STROBE LIGHT: An illuminating pink powder imparting a soft highlight.
And lastly, Luminous Edit. It contains Luminous edit powder, Luminous Flush blush, and Iridescent Strobe Light highlighter. This one would be so beautiful on all skin tones.
LUMINOUS LIGHT: A champagne pearl powder that creates a soft, incandescent candlelit glow—day or night.
LUMINOUS FLUSH: A champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light to evoke a candlelit glimmer.
IRIDESCENT STROBE LIGHT: An illuminating pink powder imparting a soft highlight.
I also have closeup photos of the swatches of each shade from this palette as well:
