Kylie Skin Review
Alert! Kylie has now ventured into skincare! Should we celebrate?
I have now finally tried every item from this launch. The best thing about this launch has gotta be the packaging. Serious matte pink tubes, why didn’t anyone else think of that? I think the thing that made me wanna try this is definitely the packaging, because the name Kylie doesn’t make me think of skincare to be honest.
First up is the Foaming Face Wash.
Here’s the brand’s description: Our luxurious foaming face wash is infused with ultra-nourishing kiwi seed oil, packed with Vitamin C and E to help maintain moisture and improve elasticity. This gentle formula cleanses skin by helping to remove dirt, oil and makeup for a fresh, bright complexion.
Apply to wet skin and gently massage in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
KEY FEATURES
Glycerin: A humectant that helps balance the moisture in your skin. If your skin is dry, it will draw in moisture and if your skin is oily, it will help decrease the oily appearance of your skin
Mild, gentle cleansing ingredients: Derived from coconut. Gentle & effective
Kiwi Seed Oil: An antioxidant. Kiwi seed oil is a rich source of Vitamin C & E that helps hydrate and brighten skin
Lightly Fragranced
To my surprise, this is my favourite item out of all Kylie’s products. It looks like a normal face wash in super pretty packaging, and when I squeezed out the foam, it looked just like any other foam I’ve used (and I’m not even a fan of foaming washes, I prefer gels). But when I put it on my face and start to wash, oh man this thing foams up so much, the resulting foam was so soft and my skin loved it! I really lose how soft it felt to use this foam.
Then after a while I learned to use just 2/3 pumps so the foam don’t overflow into my hair. I did not have much expectation for a face wash but this blew my mind away. Really recommend.
Next, the Walnut Face Scrub.
Here’s the brand’s description: Our gentle yet effective face scrub is packed with a cocktail of anti-inflammatory ingredients and skin-smoothing fruit extracts that buff away dead skin cells to reveal a soft, radiant complexion.
Our Walnut Scrub was dermatologist tested and passed RIPT testing (Repeated Insult Patch Test). The RIPT showed no irritation or sensitivity in all 52 panelists.
Apply to wet skin and gently massage in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Recommended use once a week.
KEY FEATURES
Squalane: A highly-refined moisturizing oil derived from olives that helps to strengthen and restore skin’s moisture barrier
Glyceri: A humectant that helps balance the moisture in your skin. If your skin is dry, it will draw in moisture and if your skin is oily, it will help decrease the oily appearance of your skin
Blend of fruit extracts and fine walnut powder: To help gently exfoliate
Ginseng Extract: Helps energize the skin
Sodium Hyaluronate: A derivative of Hyaluronic Acid that helps hydrate and plump the skin
Fragrance Free
After using it once, I felt like this was too abrasive for me. I mean I’ve used abrasive scrubs before like the Lush Magnaminty but I felt like this one was too much. Or I just had sensitive skin, who knows. The Kylie Skin website says the Walnut Scrub was dermatologist tested and passed RIPT testing (Repeated Insult Patch Test). The RIPT showed no irritation or sensitivity in all 52 panelists. But for me, this felt too abrasive.
Next, the Vanilla Milk Toner.
Brand’s description: Our gentle alcohol-free facial toner helps replenish the look and feel of your skin. It is formulated with avocado oil, kiwi seed oil and apple extract to help soothe, tone and restore natural hydration. This toner helps unclog, purify and minimize the appearance of pores.
After cleaning the skin with the foaming face wash, squeeze a small amount onto a cotton pad and sweep across skin.
KEY FEATURES
Apple Fruit Extract: An antioxidant that helps to improve the look of skin
Squalane: A highly refined moisturizing oil derived from olives that helps to strengthen and restore skin’s moisture barrier
Avocado Oil & Apricot Kernel Oil: Emollients that help restore hydration, soothe and soften skin
Sodium Hyaluronate: A derivative of Hyaluronic Acid that helps hydrate and plump the skin
Jojoba Seed Oil: Helps condition skin with a weightless feel
Alcohol-Free
Lightly Fragranced
This toner is supposed to be used using a cotton pad, but I actually just use my hands. I think it’s a decent toner, has a nice scent, and I like the milky texture. I like the fact that it’s alcohol free too. It’s just that there’s nothing wow-ing about this except the super cute packaging. Its an OK toner overall.
Next, the Kylie Skin Face Moisturizer
Here’s the brand’s description: Our face moisturizer includes a combination of humectants and emollients that help hydrate skin without heaviness, greasiness or oiliness. It is suitable for all skin types. This formula conditions the skin for a soft-to-the touch finish, without any excess oil. Oat and orange-peel extracts help soothe and soften the skin, while shea butter helps moisturize. Use in the morning to create the perfect base for your makeup or before bed for continuous hydration while you sleep.
Apply to face and neck as desired.
KEY FEATURES
Shea Butter: Provides excellent moisturization
Sodium Hyaluronate: A derivative of Hyaluronic Acid that helps hydrate and plump the skin
Banana Leaf Extract, Oat Bran Extract and Orange Peel Extract: A combination of extracts that help soften, leaving the skin feeling smooth

I think this one is nice. I like the texture of it (not creamy, not gel-like, more like something in between). It has a light scent that doesn’t kill anyone. But again, it’s not that wow-ing except for the packaging.
And lastly for this post, the Revitalizing Eye Cream.
Brand’s description: Our revitalizing eye cream is the ultimate recipe for your eyes. This unique formula contains a blend of caffeine, green tea, Vitamin E and pomegranate extracts that help brighten, hydrate, and reduce puffiness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
KEY FEATURES
Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, Pomegranate Extract: A blend of extracts that help soften the appearance of wrinkles, smooth skin and help reduce puffiness
Vitamin E: An antioxidant that helps hydrate skin
Vitamin C: An antioxidant that helps reduce the appearance of dark circles

Jojoba Seed Oil: Helps condition skin with a weightless feel

I don’t normally use eye creams to begin with, so I don’t really know what to comment on this. I guess it does what it’s supposed to do, and the packaging is gorgeous. But to be honest I feel like if I’m really looking for something with anti aging results, say – for my mom, I wouldn’t buy Kylie eye cream, you know what I mean?
And that is it for this post! I have other Kylie SKin products coming up in future posts, and they include the Vitamin C serum, Facial Wipes, body scrub, and lip balm. Stay tuned!
