Hourglass Ghost Edition Palettes Review and swatches
Hey guys I know its been forever since my last post and I have to apologize for that.
This blog is on the two new Hourglass palettes. The Hourglass Ambient Light Palettes - Ghost Edition. Over the years, Hourglass has released several face palettes which contain their best selling powders, blushes, and bronzers, some original best sellers and some new shades exclusive to the palettes. I love them all, honestly.
I think Hourglass powders really do what they’re supposed to do, like light up, or dim down the skin (Dim Light is my holygrail). So i immediately bought these palettes when they launched.
Ok let’s take a look at them.
First up is the Blush Quad Ghost Edition. Here’s the brand’s description “A collection of blushes that define the essential cheek wardrobe. This palette features an exclusive quartet of universally flattering hybrid blushes that combine the customized lighting effects of Ambient™ Lighting Powder and Strobe Powder with beautiful color. Available in a limited edition compact with a silver and translucent finish.”
Yes the limited edition compact is nice, but I think the main focus here is on the four blushes.
SHADES:
• AMBIENT™ LIGHTING BLUSH – Surreal Effect (NEW)
• AMBIENT™ STROBE LIGHTING BLUSH – Brilliant Nude
• AMBIENT™ STROBE LIGHTING BLUSH – Lucid Glow (NEW)
• AMBIENT™ LIGHTING BLUSH – Infinite Flush (NEW)
Of all the 4 shades, one is permanent (Brilliant Nude). I already own this shade but I reckon its totally fine to buy this palette for the other 3 new shades and I can also use this one for travel. The quads are smaller than their full-sized blushes so it’s perfect to bring around.
Below are the swatches. Beautiful right? If you want to see video swatches of these, you can take a look on my instagram @survivorpeach in the insta-stories highlight.
Next, the highlight. The Ambient Lighting palette - Ghost Edition. Here’s the brand’s description: “The coveted Ambient™ Lighting Edit returns for its fifth year, featuring 100% vegan blush and bronzer in six shades — three bestselling and three exclusive new hues — for a glowing complexion. This travel-friendly palette of lighting essentials is everything you need to create the perfect light wherever you go. Available this holiday season in a limited-edition compact featuring a translucent and metallic silver finish.”
This palette contains my 2 most used Hourglass powders, Diffused Light and Dim light, and I’m totally planning to bring this on my vacations! I use Diffused Light to set my foundation and use Dim Light to softly contour. And then I use the blush and bronzers as usual. The result is super photogenic and my makeup lasts all day too. Seriously I really recommend Hourglass face palettes for vacations.
Below are the brand’s instructions:
• FINISH: Apply Diffused Light or Dim Light finishing powder all over the face
• BRONZE: Contour along the temples, hollows of the cheeks, and jawline with Eternal Bronze Light
• BLUSH: Apply Iridescent Rose or Sublime Flush to the apples of the cheeks
• HIGHLIGHT: Apply Iridescent Strobe Light to the high points of the face – tops of cheeks, bridge of nose, brow bone and cupid’s bow. Can be used wet for a more intense highlight.
